Dentistry with Advanced Dental Technology

In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, our office is an all-digital environment. Torrey Pines Dental Arts is pleased to provide state-of-the-art dental technology to make treatment as safe, effective, and efficient as possible. Our office uses all-digital technology with no chemicals – one of the many advantages of modern dentistry. Whether you are receiving cosmetic, restorative, or general dental care, you can expect to receive treatment with the most advanced technology available. All patient record-keeping is done in our computer to allow us to access your chart from anywhere in our office. We also offer online appointment requests and use email and text messages to confirm appointments. Let us know if you prefer a phone call confirmation and we will be happy to oblige.

Digital Radiography

Digital radiography allows dentists to take precise X-rays of the teeth, mouth, and facial structures while exposing the patient to a fraction of the radiation of traditional X-rays. This type of radiography provides detailed X-ray images in just a few seconds. Since digital X-rays do not require photo chemicals, film, or photo processing, they do not pose the environmental hazards of conventional radiography and incur fewer financial costs. At Torrey Pines Dental Arts, our dentists use digital radiography to diagnose structural problems of the teeth and jaw, discover subsurface cavities and wisdom teeth, detect bone loss due to periodontal disease, and identify other problems.

Intra-oral Camera

Torrey Pines Dental Arts uses an intra-oral camera for numerous procedures. Intra-oral cameras project images of the inside of the mouth onto a viewing screen during the procedure. This way, patients can see what the dentist can see and can therefore gain a better understanding of their treatment. Intra-oral cameras also provide a clear view of the teeth and mouth, allowing for an extremely precise treatment.

Endodontic Microscope

Our use of an endodontic microscope for root canal therapy allows superior visualization of the root surfaces. The microscope is a valuable tool since it permits extreme precision during endodontic surgery. The highly sophisticated microscope provides angled optics for viewing multiple positions and is easy to maneuver, allowing our dentists at Torrey Pines Dental Arts to provide outstanding endodontic treatment.

Other Advancements in Dental Technology

By using the latest in digital x-rays, we can give our patients superior quality and more immediate results than traditional dental x-rays. Our 3D CT scanner incorporates innovative imaging technology to allow more precise diagnosing and treatment planning.

Invisalign® and Suresmile® are revolutionary alternatives to traditional orthodontic braces. Using a system of virtually invisible clear plastic retainers, misaligned teeth are gradually straightened.

The advancement of dental lasers which are used in periodontal treatments and restorative procedures allow us to obtain better results, support quicker healing, and reduce patient sensitivity and discomfort.

The VELscope Vx is a hand-held device that provides dentists and hygienists with an easy-to-integrate adjunctive mucosal examination system for the early detection of a wide variety of oral diseases, including pre-cancer and cancer. Used in conjunction with the conventional intra-oral and extra-oral head and neck exam, the VELscope Vx facilitates the discovery of mucosal abnormalities before they become visible under ordinary light. The VELscope Vx is the only non-invasive adjunctive device clinically proven to help discover occult oral disease.
